Grammatics (feat. Blue Roses) - Inkjet Lakes
Hailing from Leeds, Grammatics is fantastically diverse in their musical stylings. In their own words, “We write songs faster than we can learn them, rarely repeat song sections without warping them into something different and attempt to utilise any instruments we can find regardless of quality or tone.” No matter what they do, however, it comes out sounding both beautiful and brilliant. I’m particularly impressed by their ability to bring musical intensity to the soaring vocals of frontman Owen Brinley — it would be too easy to write cheesy pop like Tokyo Police Club or Ra Ra Riot (not that I dislike those bands).
Grammatics are headed out on a UK tour with Bloc Party in October. You can pick up “Inkjet Lakes” for free below just be joining their mailing list.
